Oryx gallopping next to our car

This was shot on the road between Sesriem and Sossusvlei, Namibia. We stopped to look at this grazing oryx just next to the road. When we started driving again, it started walking next to us. And when speeding up, it just speeded up as well and ran next to the car for a good while! Magnificent.

CultureClash #3

No more internet on my phone... (unless I pay 50 eurocent per Mb). Gosh I miss Econet.

CultureClash #2

Raising your eyebrows as a positive answer to a question, is not commonly understood as such in Belgium.

CultureClash #1

Turning on the wipers instead of the indicators.

Monday 20/12

This is it. Last hours in Zim. The end of a chapter. I wake up with a lump in my throat. I keep myself busy with some very final packing (there is always that thing you find last minute you have no idea what to do with or how to pack or how to get rid of). We realise some suitcases are overweight and we need to puzzle and shift the luggage from one piece to the other. We both end up with each 23+27kg and some overweight handluggage. Crossing fingers for the check in. 3 years of our life in 4 big and 3 small bags. Lump in the throat. Tindo drops by for a final goodbye. Farai, Orane, Rah and Dimitri as well. Shaun and Viv arrive to pick us up for the trip to the airport. Constance comes in to clean the house. 7 goodbyes later (counting the cat as well), Bruno and I let the tears lose in the car. Lump in the throat just writing this. Recomposing. Effortless check-in. Last drink at the new airport bar with Shaun and Vivi. They give us in name of the capoeira group a club t-shirt each, Bruno's has his capoeira name "Navalha" on it, mine says "Groupie Nr 1" :-). Very final goodbye to S&V. And an effortless flight back home, despite our fears of cancelled flights on account of snow and lack of defrosting products.

Hope to go back to Zim some time soon!
